We love going here. It's very habitat friendly which we love, even if it means we sometimes miss some of the animals. It's easy to navigate and the employees are always helpful. Manatees and Polar bears are always family favorites. A bit costly but not bad with a membership!
Very nice zoo, and the memberships are especially well priced compared to other zoos. It's a bit of a stretch for them to put the aquarium in the title, as it's a pretty small aquarium display (the Minnesota Zoo's aquarium is MUCH more impressive, yet doesn't make the title). The aquarium has a touch pool, a couple small tanks, and one large tropical tank. The zoo is nicely laid out into little loops, so it's easy to do a small portion and come back another day without having to recover much ground to reach new animals.
This is a wonderful zoo. They have the best animal collection I have ever seen. It's easy to navigate even on busy days. There is always something going on there. The light show is really neat. If you want your kids to actually like a zoo trip, take them here.
We went during the Christmas time for the Christmas lights. The Christmas light were amazing. I never seen so many lights. It was nice to see zoo animals too and there's definitely a lot to do. My biggest complaint was the lack of traffic directing. We were in the parking lot for an hour and a half trying to leave. Same issue coming into the parking lot. Also some exhibits needed some more lighting to see the zoo animals. I think during normal hours and not during Christmas time the zoo would be more enjoyable. Just didn't have the best experience this time.
Christmas lights were great. Admission and parking prices were fair. Prices inside the zoo were a little outrages. The aquarium was over advertised and left much to be desired. The animals seemed well cared for with plenty of space. The zoo was well kept and clean. Overall worth the 3 hr drive. Great day with the family and much better than our trip to Oglebay lights in West Virginia.
